Summer means our awesome farmers markets are back! I have listed only a few of the opportunities, and it’s fun to explore them all.
Reno
Shirley’s Farmers Markets holds two markets on Saturday mornings in Reno. The larger of the two is the Village Market on California Avenue, which is close to downtown. Village Market hours are 8am to 1pm. The Tamarack Market is held in the parking lot of the Tamarack Junction Casino on South Virginia, from 9am to 1pm.

The Riverside Farmers Market at the McKinley Arts and Cultural Center is Reno’s only year-round market, and features products from local small farmers and ranchers. You can meet our area’s newest purveyors and get to know and support the next generation who are growing food here in the Truckee Meadows. Enjoy this market on summer Thursday evenings, 4pm-8pm. In the winter you will find them from 9am to noon Saturdays.

Reno Food Systems is a working 5 acre farm located just east of the intersection of McCarran and Mayberry Drive. They grow interesting varieties of vegetables, fruits, and spices. They also have a pick your own cut flower garden and friendly goats to visit. They also sell vegetable and perennial seedlings in the summer and fall.
